Moisturize Your Skin!

In this weeks post, I wanted to talk about moisturizing your skin. Many people skip this step because they think they're skin is already oily enough and they don't want to make their oily skin worse by moisturizing. However, this is false and the overproduction of oil might actually be caused by your skin being dry!

I've explained in my previous post about how dry skin leads to the overproduction of oil. This is because the skin is dehydrated and it's attempting to fix the dryness by producing an excess of oil. If you start to moisturize, you'll notice that - contrary to many peoples beliefs - your skin will start to become less oily!

There are many different ingredients that can help with moisturizing your skin. Some ingredients that you can look for in products is hyaluronic acid, glycerin and urea.

Here are my favorite moisturizers:

1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013HHJV0C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • This is more like a thick toner but is very moisturizing when used on damp skin.
  • This is a lightweight moisturizer that gets its job done! I love this moisturizer.

It's best to use moisturizers right after washing your face when your face is still a bit damp. Remember that moisturizers work by sealing in moisture to your skin. If you wait to apply the moisturizer after your skin has completely dried, it's not really doing much than sitting on top of your skin.

  1. I know this is just for your face, but do these work the same on hands? My hands have been overly dry and cracked and I was wondering if there's any product that I could use that doesn't feel super oily?
